Good Reading!

Posted by John B on October 30th 2020

Some time ago, Mike was in touch to ask if there were folks among us who would be willing to read and review books – books that might help any and all of us to grow in our discipleship. A few people came forward and said they would be happy to. In the weeks and months to come, we will be sharing these reviews and encouraging you to buy or borrow the books themselves. Some are lighter reading and others need a bit more concentration. There is fiction as well as non-fiction. And a mixture of devotional content with advice on Christian living, too. Click on the GOOD READING! tab above to find out more and get started!

Season of Prayer

Posted by John B on September 26th 2020

Partners at WBC are being asked to take part in a new season of waiting on God this autumn and everyone involved with the church is being encouraged to take part. This is about making time to hear God’s voice - with Covid-19 changes, input from the BU and the Holy Spirit speaking at local level, Mike is calling on those committed to the church to join him in a time of talking to God and listening, too. A range of resources is being made available to help people renew their focus on prayer (find these by clicking on the 'PRAYER RESOURCES' tab above). A new initiative called ‘Prayer Huddles’ will start, together with a new monthly prayer meeting for prayer, praise and listening. These will support the existing Monday morning prayer meeting, a WhatsApp prayer network and the recently-established ‘Open Prayer Garden’ initiative. Mike said: “I hope that Partners, who have committed to listening together for God’s voice and discipling one another, will stand with me by taking part in this season of waiting on God. I’m excited to find out where God will lead us.”
